When There Is A Choice

by | Personal

I would always choose my kids and my family first. Admittedly, I am a very driven and competitive person. I want what I do to matter. In my life I have let that drive at times, override what really matters. Don’t get me wrong, I have a really good life. My children are so special and successful, I have a wonderful groom of almost 38 years who makes me a better person because he is in my life, my sister thinks I hung the moon, I have friends who would do anything for me, and I am blessed with a business full of amazing team members and clients. But sometimes, I really goof things up.

Sometimes, I choose to work when I should focus on my family. Sometimes, I’m critical when I get too tired or too stressed. Sometimes, I fail. I guess that makes me human right?

In the face of that human failure, I am compelled to send a message of encouragement this week. We all begin each day with a choice of how to make this day the best it can be. It is hard for me to imagine anyone jumping out of bed thinking, “I am going to make this day the most mediocre day possible.” Who would do that? Or even worse, “I wonder how crappy this day will be?’ There is NO TIME in my mind for that kind of thinking. Zig Ziglar said folks need a “check up from the neck up to eliminate stinkin’ thinkin’ and hardening of the attitude!” I believe that’s a pretty good thought to live by if you are jammed up about how to do what matters!

I’m rambling today but thought the message was important. You know we work in this world of “family entertainment”. I think what you do to bring families together is very important. Maybe the marketing message needs to be-Choose Your Kids! Come play today! I don’t know… Just random thoughts from the CEO of a training company who serves the family entertainment industry!

Have a great week. Let us know if we can help you. ALSO remember, training is not a single event. It’s an ongoing endeavor. We’ve spent almost 14 years working on how to help just like you. As one business owner to another, when it comes to improving your business and your life, I’m pretty sure if you let us help you, we could make sure you get more time with your kids!

Much love,
