Are You Prepared to Win?

This time of year is always exciting. They say games are won in the fourth quarter. I hope that’s true. This 2021 game has been a tough one for our family and a slow uphill grind for the business. And yet, there is hope and a plan for the future.

2020 and 2021 have had a loss, uncertainty, the ability to pivot (my least favorite word today), and a vision for what’s now normal. Some have adapted well, some folks have changed course altogether, and thank goodness, many of us are still standing to fight another day.

It’s time to move forward to the “Now Normal.” There is no going back to what was. Many of you are soaring above your 2019 revenue. We hear from you that you are having record-breaker weeks filled with guest service challenges due to being short-staffed. What are you doing today to keep that momentum going? Have your staffing issues begun to settle into a more now normal pattern? Are you figuring out how to do more with less? These are all questions I’m asking myself and our team daily.

The thing that I know for sure is, without a plan, it is very difficult to chart a course that can be fun and manageable.

I don’t like to blindly drive somewhere, hoping the Google gal inside the navigation app really knows the way. I prefer to see the map and understand the route. I know there might be heavy traffic, construction, and other detours that may derail my ability to get where I’m going, but without a plan, it is sure to be a bumpy ride! Are you prepared to win?
