The CQC of Selling

Beth StandleeI believe it is easy to make anything too complicated. Every day we have the opportunity to work with sales teams across the country and for me, selling should not be complicated. People in this country love to buy stuff. Why shouldn’t they buy yours?

At a very fundamental level I think the best system for selling can be summed up in 3 words.

Connect Connection happens when you are genuinely interested in another person. You must stay focused and be aware of all connection opportunities.
Qualify Qualification is asking the right questions to see if your product matches a need for this new connection.
Close Closing is all about being brave enough to face rejection, proud enough of your product, and caring enough to sell your product to this new buyer.

Great selling happens when you are focused on helping others. You do something for your buyer, not to them. There’s no remorse about the money they’ve spent when you:

  1. Deliver more than you promise
  2. Care more about what the product can do for your customer than the product itself
  3. Know that you’ll have everything you want when you help others get what they want
