Get on the Energy Bus

Are you out of fuel? Is your energy or the energy of your center suffering? Well RUN don’t walk to the bookstore, hit download on your I-pad, Nook, Kindle, I-phone or do whatever it is that you do when you read. AND if you don’t read, this is the week to start. You must grab Jon Gordon’s book, The Energy Bus. 

A dear sales team member out of Omaha Nebraska mentioned this book to me late in November last year. I see my note to go get that book every day.  In my own crazy running from city to city I had not gotten the book yet. Fortunately, Mary Southwick, part-time trainer and bookkeeper for our company is also a full-time teacher. Her principal handed them this book in a staff meeting two weeks ago. Mary called me from school before she was a third of the way through the book.

Her enthusiasm about what this concept could do for her students (emotionally disabled) was amazing. But she called me because she had such a GREAT vision about what the concept could do for our TrainerTainment customers. Of course, I couldn’t get my hands on the book fast enough. Mary is right!

I’ve heard people often say that you have to get the right people on the bus. I think Jon Gordon says it better as he talks about getting people on your Energy Bus that WANT to be on your bus. It is not enough to have the right people if they don’t bring energy and enthusiasm to your BUSiness.  LOOK at that: the first part of the word business is BUS! How about that?

I know that many times when I speak, people are so kind to respond that they wish they could bottle my enthusiasm. I promise, The Energy Bus shows you a great way to create that spirit in your center or even with your own individual performance.  Enthusiasm IS contagious. Your staff will want to be around you. Your customers will come back for more.
